This is a FINE, VERY RARE 1st Edition, 1st Printing in London. Green leather, stamped with bright gold design around "Longfellow's Poetical Works" on the spine. Elaborate gilded tooling. Ruled compartments to spine ridges. Gilt page edges. There is a faded scene on the gilt side page edges. It appears to be a scene of an Indian camp. Beautiful illustrations, printed on fine paper. 504 pages.
Hard cover, Pages clean, no foxing. There is a signature on the front inside page that reads: "Emily, with Lizzie's love, April 14/67" On the inside of the front board is a label with the name of "Joyce Simons" on it.
